Sunday Story Time!
It is possible to miss (I'm talking emotionally) a race. Or am I the only one?
My race was 2 years ago and it was Dam to Dam (half-marathon). I went into the race not registered by my name because I was orgingally was going to stick with the 5K. My friend encouraged me to the longer race because her brother dropped out. Honestly, I didn't think I could run a half-marathon. Scary. Too many miles. After all, my longest run leading up to this race was a whopping 5 miles. With a LOT of speedwork. I thought I was going to die.
I did, slightly.
But it taught me so much. I crossed the finish line at 1:26:59 with tears in my eyes because I did something I never thought was possible. That day I knew I was a distance runner and it shaped my heart completely to keep training. I have never looked back since.
I wish I could have that race feeling everyday.
Have a great Sunday :)
